Vehicle Registration

1998 Mitsubishi Diamante. Applying for the Vehicle Buy Back Program.

Mitsubishi has 202096 miles + major oil leak at crank seal + failed smog at Function Check, Emmissions Test, MIL/Check Light failure to complete OBD test.

The registration deadline without late fees is

6-28-12, the Vehicle Buy Back Program begin 7-1-12.

Question; How do I maintain current registration status and be eligibile For the Vehicle Buy Back Program with the above smog conditions and registration deadlines and missing the Vehicle Buy Back Program start date of 7-1-12. Thank You

ANSWER:

Since your Mitsubishi has failed the smog check the state will allow up to 121 days lapse in registration.

Assuming this doesn't change, your Mitsubishi should be eligible for the vehicle buy back program.
