1993 Ford Explorer Power Lost to the System Battery

1993 Ford Explorer XTL, Power lost to the system-Battery.

Is it pertinent that the vehicle be driven over a weeks time for the drive cycle to be in order if the computer has had a disconnect from the battery? One can not just go for a drive for 150 - 200 miles and it be in tune with it's self upon completion of the road trip?

Or can those miles be driven in two to three days and the cycle be complete?

Is that week that's mentioned a 5 or 7 day week, and is that the minimum or maximum time needed?

Please understand, that I'm not trying to be sarcastic by any means, It's that I'm in a world of hurt with the DMV and trying to get out from under their threats and such, ASAP!

Thank You for being here on your dime, giving us the information we need to get it done and not asking for anything in return.

Your service is very much appreciated!

Gods speed.

Answer:

Only 1996 and newer model vehicles have thier OBD-II systems checked during the smog test; for monitor readiness and trouble codes. Having the battery disconnected or losing power to the ECM (temporarily) will not cause a smog failure on a non-OBD-II vehicle. 1995 model year and older vehicles are equipped with an OBD-I system, which the smog test does not include.
