General Smog Check

I'm Selling My 1970 Ford Mustang, Will It Need a Smog Test?

I'm getting ready to sell my 1970 Ford Mustang. It has a 302 engine with 2 barrel carburetor and automatic transmission. I'm the car's original owner and everything is stock. I need to know if it will need a smog check. Thank you.

Answer:

1975 and older vehicles are exempt from California's smog inspection process. Instead of undergoing a smog check and paying a smog certificate fee to the state of California, these vehicles only pay a smog abatement fee and do not need to obtain a smog check.
