2005 Hyundai Elantra - registered in California - currently residing in Las Vegas.

Her 2005 Hyundai Elantra's registration renewal requires a smog check. I have read that a Nevada smog check will not be accepted in California. Must I make her drive to a California smog station to complete the registration? Or, would I be able to use the statement of facts so that she does not have to make that trip?
