Is my Vanhool Diesel Double Decker Bus exempt from the California smog check?

Hi, I just bought a Vanhool double decker bus for my Limousine company. It has a Diesel Volvo 1989 engine from out of the state of California.

Answer:  

Your Vanhool should be smog check exempt. California's diesel smog test law applies to 1998 and newer diesel powered vehicles under 14,000 GVWR. Diesel testing is implemented as a biennial program similar to the regular smog check.
