2004 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.8 SC Legal Catalytic Converter in CA

My smog check technician is failing my Pontiac Grand Prix saying that the catalytic converter is wrong for my car. The EO number they copied off the CAT is D-193-66. He says the info source doesn't show this CAT as being legal for my car. He might be looking at the CAT's part number and not the EO number. When I look up the EO number it shows it's a universal fit. Do you agree? Is this catalytic converter legal for my car? Thank you.

Answer:

Hello David. Please use the website link we've included below to look up the different catalytic converters allowed for use on your Pontiac Grand Prix. There are more than a few Universal CATs allowed. The EO number D-193-66 however did not show up as being legal for your vehicle.
