1997 Honda Civic Hx Aftermarket Catalytic Converter

My Honda Civic Hx 1.6 Liter Engine is in need of a new catalytic converter with manifold. None of of the  aftermarket products have been tested on my engine family. Does this mean I am stuck with an oem CAT? Thank you, Nicole.

Answer:

Have you checked the ARB Aftermarket Catalytic Converter Website? Our search showed test group VHN1.6VJG2EK and VHN1.6VJG3EK applying to a 1997 Honda Civic 1.6 Liter Engine, with catalytic converter in front. This does not necessarily mean it applies to your vehicle directly due to different engine types. We hope that one of the two designs do.

If you've exhausted all efforts and unable to locate a California legal CAT please contact the State's hard-to-find parts locator hotline at (800) 622-7733 for assistance. If they to are unable to locate a legal catalytic converter for your Honda Civic your only option may be a new CAT from Honda.
