ASE Certified Shop

SmogTips.com™ takes great pride in referring consumers to ASE certified facilities which have the skills and training required to perform accurate smog checks and efficient repairs, while maintaining a clean and customer friendly environment.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) conducts the only industry wide, national certification program for automotive and smog check technicians.

ASE certifies the competency of technicians through a series of standardized specialty exams (Advanced Engine Performance, Electrical and Electronics Systems, Engine Performance, etc.). Tests are conducted twice a year at over 600 locations around the country and are administered by the American College Testing.

The exams stress real-world smog check diagnostic and repair. Exams are not easy; one of three techs fail. Once passing an ASE exam, certification is valid for 5 years.

Consumers benefit from ASE certification. It is an invaluable distinction when measuring the knowledge and skills of individual smog check technicians as well as the commitment of the smog test only or smog check repair facility employing ASE certified technicians.

Please contact us if you receive anything less then excellent service at any participating smog check service station.

Call us toll free at 1-877-766-4847. We want to hear your questions and concerns.
