You think my buyer will still qualify for the CAP program? I have a Ford Thunderbird.

I am giving my 2001 Ford Thunderbird to my boyfriend and I was told when we go to the DMV to get the car registered under his name they will request for it to get smogged. If it does not pass the smog test (I have my doubts) do you think we could apply for the CAP program or is that program strictly for the 2 year smog check?


Answer:		The CAP Vehicle Repair program is reserved for vehicles which fail thier biennial smog checks. You may not apply for CAP if your vehicle fails a smog check during a title transfer. Also note that a recently purchased used vehicle is ineligible to qualify for CAP services for two years. posted by SmogTips Support
