MIL stands for Malfunction Indicator Lamp. You will find your Hyundai Elantra's MIL on the dashboard near the odometer.
Hyundai has placed the Malfunction Indicator Lamp inside the passenger compartment to inform the driver that there has been an engine or drivetrain malfunction, which may cause the vehicle emit increased emissions.
