89 Audi A4 Won't Pass Smog Check and is Stuck at the Shop

I bought an Audi from a friend says that it will pass smog fine. Liar. I had to pay $850 for all these problems the shop owner says. Happen in june car is still in the shop. Now its nov. Owner says rats ate up his smog machine. Okay we come in 2 weeks. Go back smog person gets in trouble dealing drugs. Now no smog person. Go back new guy won't pass my car! Now what! Do I file a lawsuit? Everything sounds bogus. Has been over 5 months. What or is there any laws about smog shop keeping car to long. Plus owner will not call us to keep an updated. Bad customer service! Respond asap! Thank you.


Answer:		Sounds terrible. It might be time to get the Bureau of Automotive Repairs involved. Contact them at (800) 952-5210 and ask to speak with a BAR inspector. They will more then likely send a representative out to the smog station to inquire on your Audi's situation... this is assuming the shop is a certified California smog check repair station. If the shop is a General Repair station you may still get the BAR involved however they may not respond as soon as possible. posted by SmogTips Support
