Toyota Camry P0893 Multiple Gears Engaged

What does trouble code P0893 mean for a 1994 Toyota Camry? I can't find any information on this OBDII Trouble Code P0893. Thanks in advance.

Answer:

Trouble Code 0893 indicates a hydraulic fault in transmission. More than likely the disengaging shift mechanism is not disengaging as required.

We suggest getting your transmissions valve body inspected, and if need be having it cleaned or if found defective, replaced. you may also want to check your Toyota Camry's transmission fluid for contamination.

If there is no permanent mechanical damage to the transmission valve body, you should replace the transmission fluid and filter, clear OBDII Trouble Code P0893 and drive your Toyota Camry to see if the trouble code reappears.
