No DMV paperwork will be needed in order to get a smog check for your Ford Mustang. Just drive in to any smog check station and ask for a Smog Check for "Title Transfer". They should be able to smog check your car and send the smog check results (certificate) to the DMV electronically. They will also give your a VIR (vehicle inspection report) for your records.
