2002 Chevy Tahoe - When doing the STAR smog check does the airbag light affect?

The STAR smog check does not check for a functioning Airbag Light. In fact the smog check inspection, in general, does not check for a functioning Airbag system or Safety Restraint system. Unless the malfunction in either SRS or Airbag System causes the Check Engine Light or Malfunction Indicator Lamp to illuminate, a vehicle can pass the smog check.
