Buying a Geo Tracker From Out-of-State

I'm buying a car Geo Tracker from New Mexico and I would like to know what the difference is with the smog check in California. The car passed the smog test in New Mexico. The owner moved to California and had a stroke before registering it. Now she is selling it to me.
