Your Chevy Trailblazer will fail the smog check if ANY trouble codes are present, including a Camshaft Position Sensor trouble code and/or Camshaft Actuator trouble code. In this specific case we are not sure which trouble code is present, the one belonging to the actuator or the position sensor. Both will cause a smog check failure.
The Camshaft Position Sensor is located to the right of the Camshaft Solenoid / Actuator. Both are located at the front right side of the engine near the oil filler cap.
