Chevy C10 with diesel engine need a smog test?

1984 Chevy C10 with a ton crane. What is the smog requirment on older diesel engines? Is there a emissions test requirement? What year vehicle is required to have clean Idle sticker? My Chevy truck is driven less than 3000 miles a year.


Answer:		Only 1998 and newer diesel powered cars and trucks need a smog check now. Since your diesel Chevy is a 1984 model it does not need a smog test. Plus 1998 and newer trucks which are over 14,500 GVW don't need a smog check as well. posted by SmogTips Support
