If your Infinity G20 does not have any defective emission components, heating up the CAT would help lower HC. If your Infinity G20's catalytic converter was heated properly before the smog test, i.e. you drove your Infinity for at least 30 min before the test and it was not cold prior to the smog check, heating the CAT further might cause other failures.
