The STAR smog check does not check for a functioning Airbag Light. In general, the smog check inspection does not check the airbag system or safety restraint system. Unless the malfunction in either SRS or Airbag system causes the Check Engine Light or Malfunction Indicator Lamp to illuminate, your PT Cruiser can pass the smog test if all else (emissions related) checks out ok.
