1976 Chevy K2500 Smog Equipment

I own a 1976 Chevy K2500 with a 5.7 motor. The truck was originally from New Mexico and has no smog equipment on it. I am planning on moving to California. What smog equipment would need to be installed?

Answer:

According to the Motor Emission Application Guide a 1976 Chevy K2500 with a 5.7 Liter engine which is 49-State emissions certified is required to be equipped with the following smog parts:

PCV - Positive Crank Ventilation

ACL - Preheat Tube for Air Filter Housing

EGR - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve

EVAP - Evaporative System

CAT - One (1) OC Type Catalytic Converter

SPK - Vacuum Spark Advance Control
