1997 Mercedes C230 Broken Breather Hose

My Mercedes Benz C230 failed the smog check. It passed the 2 idle emission tests but failed the visual inspection. There was a small crack in breather hose. I have changed hose. Does the entire smog test have to be repeated or will a repeat visual inspection only (by the same smog check station) be sufficient to pass the smog check? How much should this cost? Thank you. J


Answer:		Unfortunately the entire smog test must be administered again, regardless of where you choose to get another smog test. Hopefully the station which smog checked your Mercedes C230 when it failed for the breather hose offers a free or at least discounted smog test. Call them to inquire. posted by SmogTips Support
