I want to be sure the 1996 Camry I am giving to Calififornia family member will pass the CA smog test before I drive it all the way there.

It passed the emissions test in my state 18 months ago. Are the standards the same? If not, what are the California standards, so I can have it checked out and make any needed repairs before we take it South. I understand it will need a California smog check we get there.
