The 350 engine on your Chevy K5 Blazer requires almost the same emission components as the 305 engine, except that some 305 engines were not equipped with an air injection system. All 350 models require a pump style air injection system (AIS). The rest of the required smog parts are:
- PCV System (Standard on all engine)
- ACL System (Air Cleaner Pre-Heat Tube)
- AIS System (Pump Style) - Some 305 models were not equipped.
- EGR System (Back Pressure EGR)
- EVAP System (EVAP Canister located at front of vehicle engine compartment)
- CAT (OC Type Single CAT)
- SPK (DI/HEI Igntion Timing Control)
The important thing here is... once you ensure the 350 engine is complete (all emissions components are present and functioning properly) you'll need to have your Chevy Blazer inspected by the Smog Check Referee's Office - (800) 622-7733. They will conduct the smog inspection and upon passing issue your a "blue tag" BAR inspection label indicating your vehicle has had an engine change. Subsequent smog inspections may be performed at privately owned smog stations.
