Is the California smog check going to get cheaper and faster?

Recently I saw on TV that the Smog Test will be cheaper and quicker. They will simply plug-in to the cars computer and get the diagnostic. When does that take effect? I have a 2004 Kia Sorento.


Answer:		Your are correct. Beginning January 2013 all model year 2000 and newer vehicles will no longer require the tailpipe emissions test portion of the smog check process.
