The gauges are not a problem. You can pass the smog check with them not
working. However if the Check Engine light is also not working, that will be
a problem. When the ignition is on and the engine is not running, the Check
Engine light needs to be illuminated. If it is not, your Mercedes will fail
the smog check. So just make sure the Check Engine light works.
