1977 Ford Ecoline Van, 6 cyl, manual
Fails smog
I have had this Van for 15 or so years. I seldom drive it. 2 Years ago the place where it was smog checked told me they had to rebuild the carburator. They did so and it passed. Same place just rebuilt it again with less than 25 miles on it this time and it will not pass. They tell me now it needs a catalyic convertor on it. It never has had one. The failure for smog is the vehicle in gear test. I have had many repairs on it since I owned it, all for smog. Each time it is something different. I think the vehicle was purchased outside CA.
