The smog certificate you obtain now (for your Nissan) will only be valid for
90 days. By the time your registration comes around, the smog certificate
will be expired. Your only option is to complete a statement-of-facts form
from the DMV when the time comes around for registration; indicating your
vehicle is out-of-state. The registration tags will be mailed to your
out-of-state address without the need for a smog check (unless your in
Nevada). If in Nevada, you'll have to drive to California and get a smog check.
