2002 Acura RSX - Does smog check vary by county or region?
2002 RSX; smog required for registration. Registered in San Jose (Santa Clara County), garaged/used in San Diego for college. Does my daughter need to do anything special in San Diego to get smog test that meets the requirement for her car registration? 7 years ago my other daughter in San Luis Obispo had to find a special shop that could do equivalent to Santa Clara county smog test as SLO county standard was different (less). Is this also true in San Diego or has it all changed? My daughter will not drive to San Jose by November when reg is due. Of course registration came with smog required 2 days after she left for San Diego.

Both San Diego and San Jose are located in "Enhanced Smog Check" areas, meaning both cities conduct the same type of smog test. She can simply visit a smog station in San Diego to complete her registration requirements.
