Paying for a Smog Check Certificate Twice?

If one pays for a smog check and also pays for the smog certificate ($8.25) at the same time, and the vehicle fails the smog test, when the car is retested at the same shop and passes do I have to pay for another certificate? Or should the shop tell me that the certificate is already paid for? Thank you.


Answer:		If the smog station has their paperwork in order and realizes that you've once paid for the smog certificate, you should not be required to pay again. Speak with the smog station which performed your smog check regarding whether or not they charged you twice. One passing smog, one smog certificate. posted by SmogTips Support
